I have lived in Calgary AB, my entire life. I am a mother of two, with an incredible partner named Matt. Georgia is 3.5 years old and Charlotte (Charlie) is almost 2 years old. I was also a part time nanny to two young girls for upwards of 4 years.
When I had my own children, I realized just how difficult parenthood truly was! Georgia was one month premature and Charlie was colicky, so they both gave me very different challenges. I realized quickly that sleep was going to be a major factor in creating some kind of normalcy amongst the chaos that comes with parenthood! So, I sleep trained them as soon as I could.
Although we definitely had many sleepless nights, I was able to get them sleeping through the night by 3 months old. I can’t tell you how much of a difference this made to my family’s overall health and well-being. Soon, I had friends asking me for sleep advice for their little one. It was so rewarding being able to share my knowledge and help others in such an impactful way, and this led feeling me to pursue it as a career.
Sleep is also fairly personal for me, I really struggled with sleep
as a child. I often had difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
I recall so many nights laying awake, frustrated by exhaustion yet
unable to sleep. It went on into my twenties and I had at least a
few years of insomnia, which definitely had a negative impact on
my physical and emotional health. I know now that it is avoidable;
it’s possible to teach children healthy sleep habits young, and
they can carry that skill with them throughout life.
My background is quite different though. Primarily in Finance, having worked at Financial Institutions for over a decade. My customers have trusted me to make the best decisions for their financial future. I believe there is a lot of trust involved in sleep coaching as well. You will be sharing a lot with me about your family and I want you to know that I do not take that responsibility lightly.
I have earned my certification from the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting. I have studied many techniques and come to you with a vast knowledge of sleep science and sleep training techniques. I hope to spread this knowledge and help as many babies and families that I can.
